Harsh Kamat is based in Mumbai and Goa, having a diverse work into various genres namely architecture, , advertising, portraits and documentaries involving social development and sustainability.
Born in a home where music, art, literature and theatre are worshipped, Harsh first fell in love with photography at the age of 17 in the wilderness of Goa. He has studied Sociology and Geography for his Bachelor’s degree from Parvatibai Chowgule College, Margao (Goa).
To pursue his calling, Harsh then moved to Lisbon, Portugal where he completed his Master’s education in Contemporary Arts at the prestigious Ar.Co: Centro de Arte & Comunicação Visual. Lisbon gave him the opportunity to work as an intern in commercial photography. While he is fluent in Konkani , English , Marathi and Hindi , Harsh can also converse in Portuguese.
Harsh has displayed his photographs at various exhibitions with 2 solo exhibitions to his name and his works have been also published in several reputed national and international magazines and newspapers. He also visits various institutions as an expert faculty and is very active as a public speaker across various platforms.
Harsh is an associate at Common Thread Media. This is a women-led collective of filmmakers, photographers, and artists in India, who have dedicated their skills and knowledge to work for sustainable development.
Harsh has also worked with renowned celebrity photographer Prasad Naik as first assistant since 2019. In this role, Harsh has had the opportunity to work with various brands and fashion labels and was very instrumental in handling the shoots and post production.
His work reflects his sheer love for life and every day is a new start for exploring a fresh ways to capture all that the world has to offer.
